Trusting God with Your Past, Present, and Future

(2015 Reflection)

As I sit here and reflect over this past year, I can’t seem to hold back the tears. Our God is such an amazing God, not just because of what He does for us each and every day, but simply just because of who He is. He is a God that is so magnificent and so powerful that His love, power, and grace transcends time. It has the ability to reach back into our past, abide with us in the present, and reach forward into our future. How amazing is that?

As I reflect over the year 2015, the phrase that seems to keep echoing in the walls of my heart is,

“God is faithful.”

This phrase will forever be ingrained in the depths of my heart. Why? Because it’s more than just a phrase, but a certain truth and reality.

God’s faithfulness has not only been proven throughout the whole existence of time, but within my own personal life and within this past year. 2015 has taught me and is still teaching me the meaning of God’s faithfulness. It has helped me grow to better understand what it means to trust God with my past, my present, and my future. When I started off this year, there were so many things I was unsure about, so many things I was apprehensive about, and so many things that I had yet to trust God with.

If I’m honest, I was quite frankly an emotional, doubting, scary, hot mess! I was in transition mode in so many areas of my life and it was VERY uncomfortable for me.

At first, I absolutely hated the uncomfortable areas I was in, but with time, God helped me understand the beauty in the uncomfortable. He helped me to appreciate it and embrace it. He helped me to realize that every moment of the uncomfortable is just the perfect opportunity to grow internally and spiritually.

I want to encourage you, as well as myself to always remember that there is so much beauty and so many blessings that come from allowing God to mold you in the midst of an uncomfortable situation.

Many things happened this year for me. I reached my one year milestone of being a registered nurse. I left my old job in spite of others opinions and started a new job at a hospital that I always wanted to work for. I took a risk and did something I always wanted to do and I went skydiving for the first time. I made a major lifestyle change and became a vegan. I fulfilled a dream of mine that I had been planning for years, which was starting my first blog (Fearless Faithful Following).

I grew within some of my relationships, formed new relationships and friendships, and let go of some of my old ones.

I gained new loved ones and lost some loved ones.

I made mistakes and I made good choices.

Through 2015, many tears were shed, many laughs were expressed, many triumphs obtained, and many lows were experienced. However, through it all I can say it was only by God’s amazing grace that I made it through!

If it wasn’t for the faithfulness of God and the assurance I found through His word, there would be no way I would be sitting here writing this blog to you.

I don’t know how the year 2015 was for you. You may have experienced the best year of your life or the worst year of your life, but no matter what happened I want to encourage you with these last few words.

No matter what happened in your past, what’s happening in your present life, and what will happen in your future,

I want you to ALWAYS remember that you can trust God because HE IS FAITHFUL AND HE CAN BE TRUSTED.

God is always faithful to His promises and His Word always stands true! If every day you seek to live in God’s will and seek to live for His glory, He will order your steps and continue to guide you into the future He has for you. Our lives are not our own and the more we embrace that reality and live that reality, our lives will develop so much peace and purpose. So I want to encourage you, go into this new year with your head held high, your mind at ease, and your heart forever trusting in God and His power.

He is faithful and will forever be faithful. God is ready to use you for His glory! Position yourself to carry out God’s purpose and will for your life. You can do it!

I’m praying for you as you go into this new year. I want to personally thank you for going on this journey with me through my blog. Thanks for allowing me to pour out my heart to you and open my life up to you. Every blog I wrote this year expressed a particular issue or situation I was dealing with during that time of my life. So, thank you for supporting me and loving me through this process. I can’t wait to share more of my heart with you in 2016, if it be the Lord’s will. Thank you again and many blessings to you! Happy New Year!

With love,
