“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field..”-Psalm 103:13-15
One of my favorite places during my vacation was Miracle Garden. Miracle Garden is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is the world’s largest flower garden. I must say, it was truly a miracle to witness.
Never in my whole existence have I seen so many breathtakingly beautiful flowers! I felt like a little kid in a candy store. My eyes kept bouncing around with astonishment. I was completely shocked that a place like this actually existed.
My heart felt overwhelmed with pure joy as my eyes beheld the beauty of God’s handiwork. Miracle Garden screamed the work of God! His fingerprints were over ever single petal, flower and plant that existed.
As my mom and I walked around the garden, I kept thinking to myself, “Wow this is God! Look at God! Those flowers right here, those flowers over there, God did that! God IS THE MASTER CREATOR! Everything created by Him is beautiful. Everything is unique and different, but still oh so very beautiful! Wow God you’re amazing!”
Miracle Garden has pretty much every flower imaginable. From tulips, to roses, to daisies, to carnations, and daffodils; just to name a few. I loved the uniqueness of every flower and flower arrangement. You see, that was a part of the beauty. No flower was exactly the same. Some were tall, others short. Some were yellow, some white, and others blue. Some had thick stems and others thin stems. Some where used to create heart arrangements, others used to decorate the pond, and some even used to create a flower airplane arrangement. Each flower had a distinct place to grow and each flower had a distinct purpose to perform.
Miracle Garden reminded me of how we all are apart of God’s garden. We all are unique and specially made flowers designed by God our Creator. We come from different backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. None of us look exactly the same. Some of us have brown skin and others have white skin. Some of us are tall and others are short. Some of us have black hair and others blonde hair.
Our uniqueness is not only seen through our physicality but also through our personalities and gifts. Some of us have an innate adventurous nature, others are more reflective and intellectual. Some of us have the gift of singing, painting, or organizing. We all are unique and still COMPLETELY and FULLY beautiful! Why? How? Because we were made by Beauty! We were made by Yahweh, the Great I AM.
“God has made everything beautiful in its time.”-Ecc 3:11
As God’s flowers, He wants us to continue to bloom in the garden of life.
Where God has placed you in life, bloom.
Whatever family God chose to give you, bloom.
Whether you live in the USA, Africa, Spain, or Australia, bloom.
Whoever is around you in life, bloom.
Whatever environment you are in, bloom.
Whatever occupation you have, bloom.
Whether rich or poor, bloom.
Whether in grief or in happiness, bloom.
Whether in sickness or in health, bloom.
Whether single or married, bloom.
But don’t just bloom, BLOOM GRACEFULLY!
Allow the grace, love, and mercy of God to be the compelling force behind your blooming. Allow what His Son, Jesus Christ did on the cross to be your reason to keep blooming and growing.
Do not allow the devil to cause you to think that as one of God’s beautiful flowers you don’t matter in this life. No one is insignificant to God. No one! YOU matter. Your flower matters. Embrace your own uniqueness, individuality, and story. This world needs you to shine God’s beauty and glory through the uniqueness of your story, your gifts, and your talents. You have purpose. You have significance. Be thankful for every aspect of WHO you are and HOW God designed you.
Remember, it is ok to recognize other beautiful flowers around you, but DO NOT allow their beauty to cause you to overlook your own. Admire, acknowledge, but DO NOT compare. Comparison is not of God and it only breeds things like insecurity, envy, and jealousy.
“Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.” -2 Cor 10:12
We ALL are beautiful flowers who were made by the very hands of God. If you are the short, quirky, yellow flower…. be PROUD, THANKFUL and CONFIDENT being the short, quirky, yellow flower! The world needs you! You are apart of God’s masterful flower garden.
Choose today, right now, and wherever God has you, to BLOOM.
No matter the season or the stage of life, continue to
BLOOM GRACEFULLY!
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.- Psalm 139:14
